2023 Palme d'Or winner “Anatomy of a Fall” to be shown at IAF
TEHRAN-The 2023 French courtroom drama thriller film “Anatomy of a Fall” directed by Justine Triet will be shown at the cinematheque of the Iranian Artists Forum in Tehran on Monday.
It will be the 560th film of the program, which is dedicated to the screening of the prominent cinematic works of the world, IRNA reported.
The film screening will be followed by a review session with the presence of the movie critic Maziar Fekri-Ershad.
In “Anatomy of a Fall,” a woman, performed by Sandra Hüller, is suspected of her husband's murder, and their blind son faces a moral dilemma as the sole witness.
For the past year, Sandra, her husband Samuel, and their 11-year-old son Daniel have lived a secluded life in a remote town in the French Alps. When Samuel is found dead in the snow below their chalet, the police question whether he was murdered or committed suicide. Samuel's suspicious death is presumed murder, and Sandra becomes the main suspect. What follows is not just an investigation into the circumstances of Samuel's death but an unsettling psychological journey into the depths of Sandra and Samuel's conflicted relationship.
The film had its world premiere at the 76th Cannes Film Festival earlier this year in May, where it won the Palme d'Or and the Palm Dog Award. The film received acclaim from critics, who praised Triet and Hüller.
